Can I paint my new garage door?

Yes, absolutely! However, we encourage you to use one of the many color options available in the baked on enamel finish so as to limit your effort and maintenance in the long run. Quality steel doors go through a four-step finishing process that extends the durability and the life of the paint.  It starts with high quality steel that is cleaned and fully bathed in zinc galvanization on both sides to prevent rust.  Then the steel goes through a pretreatment before a primer is added.   Lastly a finish coat of exterior paint is applied resulting in four layers of steel protection. Garage door finishes are available in a variety of colors to compliment your home’s exterior.  The paint is specially formulated for the high quality steel used in garage doors and highlights the distinct definition of the door designs to compliment the architecture of your home.
